Antique Glass Oil Lamp in MANSFIELD, Queensland for sale

CLEAR GLASS OIL LAMP
Wick winder has feint lettering possibly indicating maker?s name as Sherwood. Burner gallery has ?Sun? stamped on it and the gallery type (B) indicating it takes a 3 inch chimney.
Chimney is a replacement; original was broken in transit and replaced by the vendor with a cheaper, contemporary type.
Bowl is of moulded glass construction and shows signs of rapid, mass production. Some intriguing minor moulding flaws (ridges) in the glass surface add distinct and appealing character. None of the marks in the glass are chips, scratches or damage, but indentations from the manufacturing style. Possibly gives some indication that this lamp was a ?run of the mill? affordable lamp used in many homes.
Brass collar to bowl has been repaired and is in good condition and fully functional. Gallery screws and seats firmly.
